Terry Fox. In 1980, with one leg having been amputated due to cancer, he embarked on an east-to-west cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Although the spread of his cancer eventually caused him to end his quest after 143 days and 5,373 kilometers (3,339 miles), and ultimately cost him his life, his efforts resulted in a lasting, worldwide legacy. He ran A MARATHON A DAY for 127 days out of 143, on one leg! Totally mind boggling. Did you read that? A marathon A DAY! Every Canadian knows of Terry Fox. I just recently learned about him. What an incredible human being! Please look him up. It was an honor to m33t his statue as it stands at the end of his cross country trip, where he was supposed to end up. 😠His goal was to raise $1 million dollars. As of 2022, $850 million has been raised in his name. I think he'd be pleased! Unbelievable.
