Happy Friday! Yesterday was a bummer, I was getting news I didn't want to hear about my new company. But NO startup goes according to plan, it's how one navigates the inevitable change of plans that matters.
I've been talking with critical suppliers I need (I only need one), and I have to get one to agree to supply me. Yesterday one said "nah, too risky. maybe later". But they're an old school bureaucratic company and I wouldn't REALLY want to work with them? But they're the industry leader.
But! Not really a problem since I'd already strategized "what if no one plays ball?" - I'm not there yet, but I know my backup plan will work if it comes to that. I just don't like when people and companies aren't as excited as I am

Whew, I'm exhausted. Sometimes you guys ask how I do it allš ...some days, barely. I am efficient and offload things quite well, but occasionally i have days where it feels too much. Today was like that. And pitching a company can be a little stressful.
It's not stressful like "omg I need to be ON, and present perfectly", I have no problem with that. It's that with each meeting, there will be 10 new ideas and suggestions that are good and wise and I'll need to run them down - so it's just a lot of new details and always changing.
Oh, that's also why I don't like working with angel investors (and I don't) because they're usually very successful corporate guys who had a successful career doing that and want to "play investor" in retirement with their nice retirement funds. But a corporate guy is skilled at navigating a corporate environment. He's completely unskilled in navigating an ever changing landscape of entrepreneurial ventures. But he'll want to give me advice constantly and I'm like "just sit down! That advice has no bearing here!" But I'll put on a smiley face and say "thank you". (But I avoid angel investors so I don't get put in that position, but it's happened)
